Ditch the Plastic!

Calling all lovers of the Earth! Did you know that July is Plastic Free Month? It's the perfect time to think about all the single-use plastics you are using and start making a positive impact on our planet. Join the movement, break up with plastic, and let us tell you why going plastic-free is so important.

Save Our Oceans

By reducing our plastic consumption, we can protect marine ecosystems, prevent wildlife harm, and keep our beaches plastic-free havens. And not only is it Plastic Free Month, but this week is National Clean Beaches Week, so swap out those plastic bottles for reusable ones and keep our beaches beautiful.

Build a Greener Future

The world is producing twice as much plastic waste as two decades ago, with most of it ending up in landfill, incinerated, or leaking into the environment, and only 9% successfully recycled, according to a recent OECD report. Once in a landfill, plastic can take anywhere from 20 to 600 years to biodegrade. By embracing a plastic-free lifestyle, we can reduce waste generation, minimize our carbon footprint, and work towards a sustainable future for future generations.

Clean the Earth and Your Body

Plastic products often contain harmful chemicals that can leach into our food and drinks. By opting for reusable and eco-friendly alternatives, we not only protect the environment but also safeguard our health.

Create Community

Plastic Free Month brings people together in a global effort to combat plastic pollution. Share your journey, tips, and tricks on social media, join local initiatives, and inspire others to make sustainable choices. Together, we can create a plastic-free movement that makes a lasting impact!

Remember, going plastic-free is a process. Start small, make conscious choices, and celebrate every plastic-free win. As a business, we know that we must do our part to reduce our impact. Medcom has eliminated plastic cups, opting for biodegradable ones and mugs. In addition, we have recycling bins in the office. Implementing small things like this can make a significant impact on the planet, especially for a business where hundreds or even thousands are a part of the movement. But the commitment we are most proud of is becoming an Earth Charter Partner in 2020. Earth Charter International is a non-profit organization that works to educate people worldwide on sustainability and offers programs and communities to join like-minded individuals ready to do the work.

Let's make July a month of thoughtful and sustainable choices. Together, we can create a brighter future for our planet. Let's do this!
